A non-profit group dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer related research, treatment and support services in Denmark.
Pink Tribute's aim is to make a real and positive impact on the lives of women with breast cancer.
Pink Tribute was established in 2003
As a way to heighten awareness of and offer support to those affected by breast cancer in Denmark. While living in Denmark, two expats – Valerie G. Brandt and Elizabeth Asbury’s families were touched by breast cancer, so they resolved to do something to help.

As the patients say, “To think that YOU THINK of me.”
We at Rigshospitalet’s breast cancer clinic have been so privileged to manage the distribution of Pink Tribute Fund donations to our breast cancer patients. The patients express immense gratitude, surprise, and joy for being noticed and feeling chosen. As the patients say, “To think that YOU THINK of me.” They express feelings of having won something, during a time in their lives where they certainly do not otherwise feel lucky. The money has been spent on indulgence, being able to share this treat with the people who have helped the most – for example, inviting the friend who has been to EVERY SINGLE treatment to a spa getaway.
The nurses feel excited to be able distribute gifts and immense joy in being able to delight another person

Quality of life is the key word during their last time
The Pink Tribute Fund donations that are given to our terminally ill patients help provide them with some unforgettable experiences and memories together with their relatives. These experiences may not have been possible for some of our patients from a financial point of view.
Patients, especially those who are on life-prolonging treatment, should be filled with joy and special moments with those they care about the most, while there is still time.
Quality of life is the key word during their last time, and the donations from The Pink Tribute Fund can help give them that.”

It truly makes the individual happy, and this joy spreads
It truly makes the individual happy, and this joy spreads to the whole family and especially those who have small children.
Over the last few years, we have observed the incredible gratitude our patients have felt when receiving these grants.
For some, it has meant that they could take a family trip to a nice summer house, and in that way get some distance from illness and treatment, and just be together.
One young couple in particular used their donation to subsidise a much desired trip to Iceland. Generally, it is the wish to do something special with the family that has been highest on the list – by way of weekend stays in Lalandia, trips to the zoo with children and grandchildren, lovely dinners, or meal boxes to create time for family life. One particular patient bought an annual subscription to the weekly magazine “Hjemmet” because it had always meant quality time for her. The overall commonality is the focus on quality of life, for some especially in the last part of life. They’ve expressed great joy for being given an opportunity to be able to do a little extra from the funds that have been so kindly donated.

Pink Tribute means a great deal to our patients.
Those patients who receive grants are truly grateful.
It is not the amount so much, although they are certainly thrilled to receive, but the fact that we notice them.
The grant gives support to patients, often quite vulnerable in advance, especially financially. They find it hard to voice the boost, relief, and joy it gives to be able to, for example, give their children a little more pampering/togetherness in an otherwise stressful time.
